AMD Shares Render of Ryzen AI 400 “Gorgon Point” for AM5 Desktop Ahead of Q2 Launch
Last January, AMD launched a wide range of new products, including the AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series processors for laptops. These processors first arrived in portable systems, but AMD has announced that they will soon be available for desktop computers as well.
The AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series with the AM5 socket is expected to arrive during the second quarter of this year, and AMD already seems to be preparing for the announcement.
Ryzen AI 400 Series Will Move to Desktop With AM5
VideoCardz has spotted that AMD has already uploaded a rendered image of a Ryzen AI 400 Series processor. The image also suggests that this series may be released only for professionals under the Ryzen AI PRO lineup.
These new processors are an update of the Gorgon Point version for laptops, which itself was an update of the earlier Strix Point and Krackan Point designs, also made for laptops. Now, AMD appears ready to bring this refreshed version to desktop systems using the AM5 socket.
With AMD uploading images of this upcoming desktop processor series, it seems that the announcement could happen near the beginning of the second quarter. What is still unknown is the exact configuration AMD will choose for these desktop CPUs.
It is also unclear whether AMD will include its most powerful integrated graphics solution, the Radeon 890M, in these desktop models. This iGPU could be useful not only for graphics work but also for AI tasks and demanding professional workloads.
