AMD has officially announced its “Advancing AI 2024” event, scheduled for October 10, 2024. This highly anticipated event will introduce AMD’s latest AI hardware innovations, including the new Instinct MI325X AI accelerator and the 5th Gen EPYC server CPUs, alongside updates in networking and AI-driven PCs.
The event will be both in-person and live-streamed, featuring AMD executives and key AI partners. Chair and CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, will lead the discussions on how AMD’s expanding AI product line is reshaping the landscape of high-performance computing and artificial intelligence.
AMD’s Instinct MI325X AI accelerator, expected to take center stage, promises significant upgrades, including 288 GB of HBM3E VRAM and 6 TB/s bandwidth. It will also support larger AI model sizes, positioning it between the MI300 series and the future MI400 lineup. The 5th Gen EPYC server CPUs, codenamed “Turin,” are also expected to launch. These will feature up to 192 cores and bring substantial enhancements for data centers.
In addition, AMD may reveal the Ryzen AI PRO 300 series, bridging the gap to future APU launches like Strix Halo and Krackan Point.
