AMD to Launch Two New Processors for AM4 Socket

AMD to Launch Two New Processors for AM4 Socket

AMD is not ready to say goodbye to its AM4 socket just yet. The company could be preparing to launch two new processors, the Ryzen 5 5600XT and Ryzen 5 5600T, according to rumors and leaks. This comes as a surprise to many, as the Ryzen 9 5900XT and Ryzen 7 5800X3D were thought to be the last in the AM4 series.

More Processors for AM4?

Twitter user @momomo_us was among the first to reveal the news, stating that these new chips could come with six cores, 32MB of cache, and a base clock speed of 3.5GHz or 3.8GHz. The processors are also expected to have a 65W TDP, making them energy efficient. These are not high-performance chips, but they could offer users an affordable way to upgrade their systems without switching motherboards.

This is all part of AMD’s larger strategy to support its AM4 platform for as long as possible. As we’ve seen with previous releases, AMD has provided a wide range of products that work across many different setups.

It’s worth noting that these new processors have already been listed on a few manufacturer sites, such as Asus, which suggests the launch could be imminent. This focus on backward compatibility helps ensure that users don’t have to fully overhaul their systems when they need more power.
