AMD Updates Unreal Engine 5.5 Plugins With Anti-Lag 2 and FSR 3.1.3

AMD has announced the availability of two new plugins for Unreal Engine 5.5, focusing on Anti-Lag 2 and FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) technologies.
The Anti-Lag 2.0.2 update, while not offering new features compared to the 2.0.1 version from October, brings support for Unreal Engine 5.5. This technology aims to reduce input latency, which is critical for competitive gaming.
The second plugin introduces FSR 3.1.3 in Unreal Engine 5.5. This version, released in December 2024, includes bug fixes from previous versions and a new optional “pin lock” hybrid pacing support. Additionally, it gives developers more control over frame interpolation with the new “r.FidelityFX.FI.UseDistortionTexture” setting.
Looking Ahead to FSR 4
FSR 3.1.3 serves as an intermediate step toward the highly anticipated FSR 4, which promises significant improvements in many games. AMD has stated that it will share more details about FSR 4 next month, coinciding with the launch of the Radeon RX 9070 series.
The introduction of these plugins in Unreal Engine 5.5 should provide developers with powerful tools to enhance the gaming experience.
In other news, a potential clue about AMD FSR 4 has been discovered in a preview version of the Adrenalin driver, suggesting that the new technology could be exclusively linked to the RDNA 4 architecture. However, this has not been officially confirmed yet.
