AMD’s Mammoth 32 Core “Naples” CPU Details Leaked

AMD

AMD’s Zen architecture is being finalised and accommodates a wide range of usage scenarios from low-cost HTPCs to enterprise servers. As a result, the company hopes to offer a comprehensive set of products which can compete with Intel and help to reverse their fortunes in the CPU sector. AMD’s initiative for the high-end enterprise market has the codename, “Naples” and features 32 Zen cores capable of executing commands simultaneously. Apparently, the Naples CPU is scheduled to release by Q2 2017 and looks set to provide unbelievable performance. According to WCCFTech, a new set of benchmark data has arrived in Geekbench which shows AMD managing to achieve a 13% performance improvement compared to the same chip tested a few weeks ago:

Not only that, the Geekbench result provides an insight into the chip’s base specification. As you can see, the cores appear to run at a frequency of 1.44GHz and turbo to a maximum speed of 2.9GHz. This is impressive given the 32-core configuration. Also, the L3 cache is absolutely massive and showcases the amount of power “Naples” can provide. Surely, more details will be revealed in the coming months, but it’s great to see AMD’s workstation chips being tested and completing benchmarks rather well.
