Analysts Estimate $419 Million Budget for Cyberpunk 2, Release Expected in 2030
A market analyst has shared some predictions about Cyberpunk 2, the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, focusing in particular on its release period and production costs by CD Projekt RED.
According to the analysis company Noble Securities, the studio could spend around 1.5 billion Polish zloty, which equals about $419 million USD, on the development of the new Cyberpunk title. This is a massive amount but still in line with some of the biggest modern video game productions.
Given the expected scale of this new sci-fi RPG from the Polish team, such a cost seems realistic, especially if the game receives long-term support through updates and expansions.
Possible Release Window Around 2030
As for the potential release period, analysts believe Cyberpunk 2—currently known as Project Orion—might not arrive for quite some time. Predictions suggest a 2030 release year, possibly launching together with its planned multiplayer.
This timeline seems reasonable, considering the studio’s next major project is The Witcher 4. CD Projekt RED is unlikely to begin full production on Cyberpunk 2 until The Witcher 4 is completed and released.
Another interesting point is the mention of a multiplayer mode, which analysts expect to be included at launch. This would mark a major shift from Cyberpunk 2077, where multiplayer features were planned but later canceled during development.
While these are still rumors, the predictions come from credible market analysts and offer intriguing insight into CD Projekt RED’s long-term plans for the Cyberpunk franchise.
