Analysts Suggest Xbox Should Split From Microsoft to Survive
The Xbox division is not going through its best moment, and some believe that Microsoft may slowly be moving away from the brand. This prediction seems overly dramatic and does not fully align with the major investments Microsoft has made, especially considering how important Game Pass is to its revenue.
Amid the recent controversy surrounding changes within the division, some analysts have shared their opinions. They believe the best path forward for Xbox would be to separate from Microsoft. According to them, this move should also include Activision Blizzard, Bethesda, and the other studios Microsoft has acquired.
Xbox Should Separate From Microsoft to Survive
Under this idea, Xbox and these studios would form an independent company, free from Microsoft’s influence. Analysts argue that giving Xbox more freedom could help it regain the success it has lost over the years. However, even if such a separation were to happen, it is unlikely that Microsoft would allow the new company to operate with complete independence.
It is also important to remember that an Xbox without Microsoft would lose its financial backing. In that situation, failures would have much greater consequences and could seriously damage the company. Without Microsoft’s support, major setbacks could even lead to bankruptcy, as there would be no large financial safety net to rely on.
While the analysts’ argument has some valid points, and it would certainly be interesting to see whether a fully independent Xbox could recover its former success, the idea appears unrealistic, risky, and highly unlikely to happen.
