Google have already stated the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will not get Android 4.4 KitKat support (because it is too old) but the guys over at XDA Developers have decided they aren’t going to accept that. XDA Developers forum user Gharak posted up an Android 4.4 KitKat ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone. The Android 4.4 ROM apparently works fine with the Galaxy Nexus but there are some glitches with it, such as a graphics glitch with the rotation and lock functions.
Anyone with a Samsung Galaxy Nexus handset might want to give the 4.4 ROM a shot but its worth remembering that it certainly won’t be as stable as a normal Android release. You should always install and “tinker” at your own risk, preferably if you have another spare handset. All the download links can be found here at the source.
