The Antec GX1200 is currently available from Scan.co.uk for £69.98, which is pretty decent value given the range of features on offer, costing around the same at the Phantom 410, Thermaltake A31 and Aerocool DS 200, to name bud a few, so it’s certainly competitive in terms of features and price.

Overview

The Antec GX1200 is a bit of a mixed bag, on one hand, I think it looks a little cheaper than it actually is. There’s extensive use of plastic on the exterior and while that’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s not going to be to everyone’s taste, nor is the curvy front and top panel design, but these are more subjective qualities than design flaws.

Of course, there are a lot of design choices here that are much easier to love, such as the chrome finish LED fans in the front panel, the LED strip at the bottom of the front panel, as well as the LED lighting control feature. On top of that, we’ve got a durable PSU shroud, a good amount of cable routing space, side mounting 2.5″ drive bays, a tinted side panel window, dust filters, and a six port fan hub. Overall, that’s a lot of nice things to get for your investment.

Installing a system in the GX1200 is nice and easy, perfect for first time builders, but with enough support for those wanting something more advanced, such as a custom water cooling loop and multiple graphics cards. Cooling support is pretty robust too, with room for up to six 120mm fans, and you can fit a 120mm, 240mm and 360mm radiator in the back, top and front respectively. Of course, that’s partly achieved by the lack of 5.25″ drive bays, but they’re obviously going out of fashion on many gaming chassis these days anyway.

The GX1200 has some fierce competition in this price range, but it does tick all the right boxes for a well-rounded gaming PC build, with plenty of features to make your system as easy as possible to build and use.
