Antec ISK 110 90w Mini-ITX VESA Compatible Chassis Review

Final Thoughts

Pricing

The Antec ISK110 is a great little chassis, but its best aspect has to be its price. The chassis will set you back just £64.99 from Overclockers UK or $79.99 from Newegg and given that it comes with the vertical mount, VESA mount and the PSU built-in, that’s incredibly good value for money.

Overview

The Antec ISK110 is a fantastic solution to quite a lot of system building scenarios. I personally plan to use one of these for a spare work system that I’ll be installing in my bedroom. Being able to mount it on the back of a monitor will allow me to free up the space on the floor currently occupied by a midi-tower and it’ll also mean that it won’t take up the space of a compact desktop standing unit. It might not be big enough to hold a graphics card, but not all systems need to be gaming systems and a 90W PSU is more than enough for a mid-to-high end Haswell processor or a fairly decent APU based system that will tackle image processing, 4K video playback and a whole lot more.

The HTPC market is booming right now and the ISK combined with a low-power CPU and a super-quiet CPU cooler can quickly turn this into a great media center. There’s room for a pair of 2.5″ drives and with the price of SSDs falling, you can get a lot of storage in here to hold your movies, music and picture; unless of course you plan on streaming them over your network from your main system or NAS.

Speaking of streaming, services such as Steam in-home streaming are great here too, this little chassis would sit on your TV stand and act as a great hub for streaming all kinds of media to it, including your PC games from your primary rig.

Outside of the home, the ISK110 continues to shine, as it’ll be a prime choice for a compact office system. It’s small, well ventilated, there’s little here to go wrong, the PSU is included in the box and it’s got a variety of mounting options; add up all of these things and you’ve got a viable solution for a SMB deployment.

The ISK110 really is an editor’s choice product, as I’ll be placing an order for one very shortly, at this price, with this level of features, you really can’t go wrong.

Pros

  • Great build quality
  • Smart looking design
  • Multiple mounting options (horizontal, vertical and VESA)
  • Well ventilated
  • Built-in 90W PSU
  • Competitive price

Cons

  • None

“The ISK110 may not be built to handle a gaming powerhouse, but what it lacks, it makes up for with practical features and ease of use. If you’re in need of an affordable and good looking compact system, you’ll struggle to find anything better at this price”

Thank you Antec for providing us with this sample.
