It doesn’t take a genius to realise that is some serious power extension and its no surprise either as the battery is quite large in comparison to your average smart-device battery.
It’s a simple looking beast, with curved edges, a sleek white finish and just a single button on its side to check power levels. One tap of the button and four LED lights fill up to show you how much power remains, four full lights for maximum power, 1 flashing light for low power, these also light up to indicate charging progress.
The PowerUp 6000 is a heavy-duty rechargeable device, capable of powering up and recharging devices such as the iPad, iPhone, or of course just about any USB powered device such as a tablet, phone or MP3 player. Just about anything that has a USB attachment can be powered from the device and Antec have included a Micro-USB to USB connection which can be used to both connect a device to the battery or you can also use the same cable to charge the battery from any standard powered USB port, such as those found on your computer.
The PowerUp Slim 2200 comes with a.m.p branding on the box, although it does say Antec on the product it’s self. It’s not as powerful as the 6000 series, but it is slim, lighter and a little bit cheaper, making it more travel friendly at the cost of having less power, but this should still be more than enough to save the day when your battery dies on a day or night out.
Out of all the Antec PowerUp devices this is easily the best looking too, and it features a stylish side panel that you wouldn’t be ashamed to hold in public. It’s fairly well equipped too with a micro USB charger input and two full size USB outputs that allow you to charge up to two devices at one time. There are two control buttons along the edge, one for power on/off, the other to light up the battery indication. 6 little dots across the top panel are the LED indicators that give you feed back on charging progress and remaning power.
It’s reasonably light too so its friendly and portable enough to keep in your bag for emergencies, it feels pretty durable too and Antec says that it should survive a good few knocks and bumps and I have no reason to doubt that.
