Antec Mobile Products A.M.P. Mobile Power Roundup Review

Here we have the two port car charger, now this device couldn’t be any more self explanatory but I’ll do my best anyway. Hook it into your cars cigarette lighter and it provides you with two powered USB ports, it’s that simple! While this doesn’t sound that big a deal, it’s actually a very handy thing to have, especially given how many smart devices one can require while in their car, such as an MP3 player hooked up to a stereo, SatNav, mobile phone, all these things can be powered by USB, so it helps to have more than one port to charge them from, it’s as easy as that.

Finished in a nice glossy white plastic it doesn’t look or feel like a cheap product and that is of course a good thing. One thing I really like about the device however is that it comes fitted with an easily changeable fuse (orange) and this will help keep your device safe from power surges, certainly cheaper to replace a fuse than it is an iPad!

  • Works in universal 12V auxiliary power (car) outlets
  • Rapid Charge USB ports allow you to simultaneously charge your Tablet and Smartphone quickly
  • 2.1A USB port provides the fastest possible charging for Tablets such as the iPad
  • 1A USB port for Smartphones such as the iPhone
  • Integrated fuse protects against power imbalances

Here we have the 4-port USB Charging Station, another fairly straight forward device only this one is a little more practical than all the others in my opinion. As you can see it comes with the famous black and yellow Antec colours, and the packaging features a few images that look like popular Apple product.

The device is fairly simplistic in terms of design. On one side you have a power cable connection, to which you can simply plug the device into any regular 100-240V power outlet. The rest of the ports are fairly self-explanatory, with a pair of USB 2A and a pair of USB 1A, all of which will charge your devices, but the 2 amp ones are tailored towards high power devices such as iPads and similar tablets, which may not charge, or may charge slower off of the 1A ports.
