Antec releasing a new enclosure from their Performance One Series

Featuring an impressive lineup of enclosures, Antec are yet adding another one, taking in the same topic as its predecessor from the Performance One series, yet adding a little extra with the P280.

Antec’s Performance One series has always been about reducing the system’s noise while providing all the requirements for any type of user, therefore including features like efficient cooling, tool-less design, in this case updated I/O ports and much more, showing us that Antec is always pursuing perfection.

From the front, we already get that familiar feeling we had with the previous models, changes being the introduction of two USB 3.0 ports (internally connected) in addition to two USB 2.0 as well as HD audio. While no mesh is visible on the front door, the latter does feature a double-hinge system opening at an angle of up to 270°, while a dual-layer design of steel and polycarbonate deadens the noise along a triple-layer front bezel.

As previously mentioned, the P280 present a very versatile style, shipping with three fans included (two top and one rear) an additional four fans can be installed, with a fan power hub allowing you to connect four 3-pin fans to a single Molex, reducing the mess of wires.

Featuring three tool less 5.25” drive bays, the other six 3.5”/2.5” drive bays as well as the two dedicated 2.5” drive bays are incorporated with a tool-less design as well  as preinstalled silicone grommets to reduce any noise.

Speaking of grommets and cable management, the P280 accept board formats up to XL-ATX around which can be found a variety of cut-out holes fitted with rubber grommets to give a clean cable management and enhance the internal airflow, meaning less air needs to be moved and the fans can run slower, reducing the noise. Ample space has been provided behind the motherboard tray, 30mm to be precise to make things even less troublesome.

VGA wise, the nine expansions slots give plenty of space for any PCI card, and the free length of 330mm means the P280 can house quite a large range of graphics card.

To top things off, one of the airflow killers as well as being one of the least enjoyable chores is dust in your PC, for which Antec gives you a hand by placing air filters both in the front and PSU intakes.

Along the years, the Performance One series has been recognized for its qualities, and Antec’s P280 only adds to this quality list, thus continuing the legacy, all of which for a retail suggested price of $139.
