AOC CU34E4CW Ultrawide 120Hz Professional Monitor Review

A Closer Look

The CU34E4CW looks pretty great, albeit it’s not exactly reinventing the monitor or anything; it’s just a somewhat affordable package and a presentable design. To the point, it’ll feel right at home in an office space or as part of your home setup.

The panel is massive, clocking in at 34″ with a 21:9 ultrawide form factor, reducing the need for a multi-monitor setup, and giving you much more screen real estate for work and play.

The panel is curved, which is great, as it makes the extreme edges of the screen more visible and feels more natural; flat ultrawides tend to feel like the corners of the display are too far away.

It’s a VA panel, so while not the latest technology like Mini-LED or OLED, it comes with two benefits: the first being cost, it’s much more affordable, and the second being that VA has been around for a very long time, so it’s a mature platform and is extremely reliable.

Around the back, the design looks great, with a durable stand design that allows for a significant amount of ergonomic adjustment, with rotate, tilt and height adjustment all present and accounted for.

There’s a good array of connection options too, with a pair of HDMI 2.0 ports, as well as a DisplayPort 1.4, allowing you to easily connect multiple systems, and there is a Picture-by-Picture mode for dual system displays at once.

However, the main star here is the dual USB-C inputs, allowing you to use a single cable to hook up your laptop or PC, allowing for 90W power delivery, KVM functionality thanks to the monitor’s built-in USB hubs upstream and downstream capabilities, and of course, display input with the full resolution and 120Hz support over USB Type-C DP.

The USB connectivity and KVM are further expanded by a range of built-in accessories, such as the 5MP pop-up webcam, which features both a microphone and Windows Hello for easy system security and logging in. There are also built-in speakers on this monitor, making it a productivity powerhouse!
