AOC to launch ‘Almost Frameless’ 23″ 3D Display in April

AOC is planning the launch of a monitor Only 10.6 mm deep and a razor-thin 5.8 mm frame – the 3D model d2357Ph with polarisation technology. The 58.5 cm (23″) TFT sets itself apart from the similarity of most other models. It is able to convert a 2D signal to 3D, this display is LED backlit and equipped with HDMI 1.4 connectors. AOC claims it is the ultimate media and entertainment centre.

3D – The passive 3D technology delivers impressive stereoscopic depth when using polarised glasses (included). A hotkey activates the integrated software that converts 2D contents, such as photos, into 3D.

High-class design – The d2357Ph’s edges are 5.8 mm thin. This makes it the ideal choice for users who want to place two or even three monitors side by side – the super-thin frames will minimise the gap between them and thus provide an excellent entertainment platform. By dismounting the bent stainless steel interlock between foot and frame, the monitor can easily be transformed into a giant digital picture frame.

Strong features for high-grade picture quality – The d2357Ph displays photos, movies and games as well as office applications and websites in Full-HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) on its large 23″ (58.5 cm) panel. An ultra-fast 2 ms response time, large viewing angles (170° h/160° v) and a high contrast ratio (20,000,000:1 DCR and 1,000:1 typical) deliver crisp images. Even action-packed movie scenes will be reproduced without blurring. Two discreetly hidden speakers provide respectable sound.

Connecting HD – Besides an analogue input, the d2357Ph sports two HDMI 1.4 sockets, enabling it to connect two high-resolution sources simultaneously. Switching between them via the menu is a breeze.

Easy on the environment –LED backlight technology is particularly energy-saving. With approximately 35 watts during standard use and not even 0.5 watts in stand-by mode the d2357Ph consumes 40 to 50 % less energy than conventional LCDs. Additionally, intelligent operating modes support the user in saving. As the manufacturing is mercury-free, the display is especially environmentally friendly. Environmental certificates such as Energy Star and EPEAT Silver are further proof thereof.

The d2357Ph is scheduled to be launched in April 2012; the recommended retail price will be £205.
