Apple has announced that its annual Lucky Bag Sale in Japan will begin on January 2nd.
The lucky bag sales are a New Year tradition in Japan, where customers are offered a bag of mystery items at a set price. The bag could equal or exceed its value, with the potential to make massive savings on some expensive items.
According to MacRumors, last year Apple offered bags for 36,000 yen ($345) and often included “iPods, headphones and t-shirts”. Some lucky customers found themselves with iPads, iPhones and MacBooks all for that extremely low price.
The sale is obviously only confined to Japan, but wouldn’t it be fantastic to have this everywhere else? The sale has become extremely popular in Japan every year now and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Apple try it in some other countries.
