Apple Could Launch a Screenless Apple Watch Alongside New Sizes and Designs in 2027
Apple‘s smartwatch lineup has continued to grow with new models that expand a range that originally launched with just one version.
The Apple Watch now includes cheaper SE models and an Ultra model with more features for users who want more. However, Apple does not appear satisfied with its current lineup and wants to expand the Apple Watch range even further, including the possible introduction of a model without a screen.
Apple Reportedly Eyes a Major Apple Watch Lineup Overhaul
The information comes from well-known journalist Mark Gurman, who reported for Bloomberg that Apple has been working on its smartwatch lineup over the past year. Apple is considering adding more smartwatches to the Apple Watch range, with different types of displays and more size options. The company also wants to compete with the recently launched Google Fitbit Air and Garmin CIRQA, two screenless fitness trackers.
Along with the screenless option being adopted by other manufacturers, Apple wants its Apple Watch range to reach more users. The company is considering new premium and cheaper models, as well as new materials for the watch cases. This could include the return of a ceramic Apple Watch case, together with new colors and bands.
The renewed lineup is expected to arrive in 2027, although it is still unclear exactly what Apple has planned for the next generation of its watches.
