Apple MacBook Pro 2025 Official, 24-Hour Battery Life and New M5 Chip
While it’s hard to top what the 2024 MacBook Pro delivered with its M4 Pro and M4 Max chips, Apple continues to raise the bar with promises of up to 3.5x faster AI performance, faster storage, and up to 24 hours of battery life, all powered by the new macOS Tahoe. If you were thinking about buying a MacBook Pro recently, this might be the perfect time to wait for the 2025 model.
Apple Introduces the MacBook Pro 2025
The first big change is the new M5 chip, which improves the CPU, GPU, and AI performance over the M4. Apple claims a huge leap in AI processing, almost 1.6x better graphics, and more memory bandwidth for heavy workloads.
According to Apple, the M5 offers up to 86x faster AI performance, a GPU with 30x faster ray tracing, and a CPU that’s 5.5x faster compared to certain Intel processors.
The MacBook Pro 2025 features a 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with a nanotextured finish, offering up to 1600 nits peak brightness and 1000 nits typical brightness. On top, it includes a 12 MP “Center Stage” webcam for clearer video calls.
In terms of audio, Apple includes studio-quality microphones and spatial audio speakers compatible with Dolby Atmos.
Storage, Battery, and Software
Apple also introduces next-generation storage technology, promising better SSD performance than the 2024 model — although details like PCI-Express or NAND specs remain undisclosed.
Battery life has received a major boost, offering up to 24 hours on a single charge. It also supports fast charging with a 96W (or higher) adapter, reaching 50% charge in just 30 minutes.
The MacBook Pro 2025 runs macOS Tahoe, featuring the new Liquid Glass design. Spotlight has been upgraded to make app searches faster (no more Launchpad), and there’s a new Phone app for calls, contacts, and voicemail. It also includes several Apple Intelligence features.
