Apple Mocks Windows in New Ad Highlighting the Blue Screen of Death
Apple has released a new video ad that directly criticizes Windows computers, focusing on one of their most notorious issues — the “Blue Screen of Death” or BSoD. The goal of this campaign is to highlight the reliability and security of Macs compared to their main competitor’s flaws.
In the video, a group of company employees is about to present their products at a trade show. Suddenly, all their Windows computers crash, displaying the blue screen and putting the entire event at risk.
That’s when Apple employees appear. Despite being from the competition, they offer a solution by providing several Mac minis, allowing the team to continue their presentation without further issues.
A Campaign Inspired by a Real BSoD Incident
The ad ends with the slogan, “There’s no security like Mac security.” This seems to be inspired by a real and recent event — the massive CrowdStrike failure. That security update caused a wave of “blue screens” on millions of Windows computers around the world, affecting companies, airports, and public services. During that incident, Mac devices remained unaffected.
Apple’s strategy is clear. Through ads like this, it aims to position Macs as a more stable and secure alternative. Technically, macOS offers more restricted low-level access, reducing the likelihood of software and driver conflicts — one of the most common causes of Windows blue screens.
