April 29 will see mostly desktop Ivy Bridge chips with a few mobile as well

Already known by most by now, Ivy Bridge was delayed to April 29, according to the latest reports, this launch will see Ivy Bridge more present on the desktop side of things rather than on the mobile.

However April isn’t all about processors, next week, on April 8, Intel will launch its 7 series chipset including the Z77, Z75, H77 and B75. During the same announcement we will see a wave of Z75- and Z77-based boards reviews, hopefully all sporting Sandy Bridge-based CPUs.

Ivy Bridge processors are expected to be shown around the end of April, somewhere between April 22 and April 28. During the announcement we shall see the quad-core models from the Core i7 and Core i7 Extreme families, as well as Core i5. While most will be for desktops, we shall also see a few mobile CPUs being presented. On April 29, the chips announced at the event should be made available for sale, with the reviews being released on the same day. Specification and pricing follows.

June 3 should see the second wave of Ivy Bridge processors, this time being mostly mobile chips. Following is more of the specification side of things, pricing still being unannounced.
