ARC Raiders Faces Massive Cheating Problem, Streamers Claim Half of All Lobbies Are Rigged
ARC Raiders, like most online games, is facing a growing issue — cheating. While it may not yet be widespread enough to ruin the experience for everyone, several signs suggest a deeper problem, especially according to streamers who spend long hours playing the game.
One of the most vocal critics is streamer Nadeshot, who shared his frustration on Twitter, describing his recent experience with ARC Raiders as “hell.” He explained that he loves the game and considers it among his personal top ten, but the number of cheaters is overwhelming.
Streamers Speak Out Against Cheating
Nadeshot wrote, “The egregious amount of cheating genuinely might be worse than peak Call of Duty. I’m not trying to bring negativity to the game because I know this type of dialogue can spread on socials like a disease but I genuinely cannot get through an entire raid without a steam profile that is level 0 or an account that has multiple game bans and VAC bans on record.”
He added, “I promise I’m not trying to be self righteous by telling Embark what to do next, but I think the only option they have to protect the success of this game is similar to how Epic handled Fortnite in the past — legitimate legal action against providers and individuals who are actively supplying and using cheating software.”
Nadeshot also mentioned how exhausting it feels to lose progress repeatedly because of cheaters. “I’m getting absolutely pummeled for 8 hours straight every day. Hours and hours of looting, crafting and investment of time and resources wiped out raid after raid, over and over again.”
Famous streamer Shroud echoed these complaints, claiming that “50% of each lobby is cheating.” Although Embark Studios introduced a system allowing players to recover lost loot if they were killed by a confirmed cheater, this solution seems limited.
Interestingly, not everyone has experienced the same issue. Some players report never encountering cheaters, even after hundreds of hours of gameplay. Others believe it depends on playstyle — aggressive players tend to meet more cheaters, as these players target others to steal valuable loot.
Rare weapons and blueprints can be traded or even sold for real money through social media, giving cheaters a financial motive. Although the game does not officially support these exchanges, it also doesn’t prevent them entirely.
In related news, Embark Studios introduces an automated system in Arc Raiders that restores items lost to cheaters, ensuring fair play and keeping the game fun and balanced for all players.
