Arc Raiders Sets New Player Record, Surpassing Embark Studios’ Previous Hit
Arc Raiders had a strong launch on Steam and quickly outperformed expectations. At the time of its release, the shooter reached an impressive peak of 170,000 concurrent players, but the number continued to grow rapidly, reaching 264,673 simultaneous users in the following hours.
This marks a growth of more than 50% compared to the initial figures, and the record could rise even higher over the weekend when players have more free time to play.
Arc Raiders’ Rise in Steam Rankings
The player surge allowed Arc Raiders to enter the Top 10 most-played games in the last 24 hours. It secured the sixth position, just behind Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, PUBG: Battlegrounds (the usual top three), Battlefield 6 (461,385 users), and Escape from Tarkov (265,182 players).
It’s also worth noting that Arc Raiders has surpassed another major Embark Studios title, The Finals. That game previously set a record of 242,619 concurrent Steam users more than a year and a half ago. Currently, The Finals peaks at around 20,000 concurrent players at best.
The launch of Arc Raiders has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising its gameplay and presentation. However, there has been some criticism over the use of AI tools in the development process—something Embark Studios has confirmed and defended publicly.
