Antec and Asetek officially introduced the KÜHLER H2O 620, a sealed liquid cooler with a 120mm radiator, a compact fan and a temperature-controlled fan. Price is expected to be just $70 (approx. £55) and as such will cut under some of the competition from the likes of Corsair and CoolIT.
The launch of the 620 will be followed by a high-end 920 model.
The reason that these look so familiar is that they were both developed in conjunction with Asetek, who also developed Corsair’s coolers. The memory-maker has since moved on, and hence Antec has swooped-in to team up with the liquid-cooling experts.
Although this cooler might look very similar to Corsair’s Hydro-series, the Antec version will be made up of highly refined third generation products which in theory will be both cooler and quieter than the previous designs. The 620 will feature a thermally controlled fan and a new cold plate, whereas the 920 has been re-designed and will come with software to help manage the CPU temperature, fan speed and the colour of the LED on the CPU block.
We all have high expectations of this collaboration to produce very good liquid cooling systems.
