ASRock Confirms Full Support for Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D CPUs

ASRock has officially announced that its AM5 motherboards will fully support the new AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D processors. This includes support for the CPUs’ 3D V-Cache technology, which will be available as soon as the processors are launched. The required BIOS update is already available for several of ASRock’s chipsets.
ASRock was the first manufacturer to list the 9950X3D and 9900X3D processors on its compatibility page. Now, it confirms that all of its AM5 chipsets will be compatible with these new CPUs.
This includes motherboards with X870E, X870, B850, B840, X670E, B650E, B650, A620A, and A620 chipsets.
To use the new processors, users will need to update their motherboards to BIOS AGESA 1.2.0.3a, which can be downloaded from ASRock’s official website. The update can be done via BIOS Flashback or Instant Flash, depending on the motherboard model.
Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D Processors

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D are part of the Ryzen 9000X3D series, based on the Zen 5 architecture. These processors are designed for gamers seeking top-level performance, featuring 3D V-Cache technology to enhance the L3 cache capacity.
These new models are expected to follow the same market strategy as their predecessors, offering improved gaming performance due to the 3D V-Cache, although with slightly lower clock speeds compared to non-3D V-Cache models.
Driver Updates and Expected Launch
ASRock also recommends updating the chipset driver to version 7.01.08.129, which is not yet available on AMD’s website but can be found on ASRock’s support page.
AMD has not yet confirmed the exact release date for the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D processors, but they are expected to launch this quarter.
