Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag 4K Screenshots Revealed

On it’s official blog Nvidia released some stunning pictures of Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag running at the 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution. You can see all four images that were showcased in this article, they are currently rescaled to 800 x 450 so that they fit on our site but to see the full size images you simply have to click on the images. Asssassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag is part of Nvidia’s GeForce GTX Holiday Bundle which includes Batman Arkham Origins, Splinter Cell Blacklist and Assasin’s Creed 4 Black Flag. Buyers of the GTX 770, GTX 780 and GTX Titan received all three games while buyers of the GTX 660, GTX 670, GTX 680, GTX 690 and GTX 760 will receive Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag and Splinter Cell Blacklist. Nvidia is also offering $100 and $50 off the Nvidia Shield gaming console with the above two game bundles respectively. The deal runs from October 28th until November 26th, check more details here.

All the screenshots are showcasing 4K running with absolutely every setting cranked up to the max. Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag was launched earlier this week on PS3 and Xbox 360 while the PC, Wii U, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will come later this month. The most important date, the PC launch of course, will occur on November 19th in North America, November 21st in Australia and November 22nd in Europe. Of course smart gamers will be able to access it on PC from November 19th simply by using a VPN service.

Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag takes advantage of the following Nvidia technologies:

  • NVIDIA HBAO+ adds realistic Ambient Occlusion shadowing and shading around objects and surfaces that occlude light, with a considerably-higher degree of precision than previous AO techniques.
  • NVIDIA Percentage-Closer Soft Shadows add contact hardening soft shadows throughout the game, increasing image quality by a significant degree.
  • NVIDIA TXAA temporal anti-aliasing eliminates the distracting movement of anti-aliased lines and edges, and also eliminates other artifacts associated with anti-aliasing. Edge anti-aliasing is comparable with 8xMSAA, but at the performance cost of 4xMSAA.
  • Higher-resolution textures, effects and assets make full use of the available VRAM and system RAM of PCs, adding extra detail even at 3840×2160, the next-generation 4K Gaming resolution.
  • High-precision light rays increase the quality and fidelity of environmental lighting.
