Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake Could Be Announced in April 2026
According to insider Tom Henderson, while discussing the six games recently canceled by Ubisoft, he also shared new details about the rumored remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Based on the latest information he gathered, the remake could be officially announced in April 2026.
This announcement window matches previous statements from Ubisoft. The company recently mentioned that two projects currently in development have been delayed to the next fiscal year. Since the current fiscal year ends on March 31, 2026, April would be a logical time to reveal the remake.
Possible Announcement Window for the Black Flag Remake
If Henderson’s information is correct, April 2026 would fit perfectly within Ubisoft’s financial schedule. The company has already confirmed that some projects have been moved into the next fiscal period, which begins in April.
Because of this timing, many believe that the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake could be one of the titles Ubisoft plans to unveil once the new fiscal year starts. However, no official confirmation has been given yet.
Henderson also shared details about the six projects Ubisoft recently canceled. Some of them were known through leaks, even if they had never been officially announced.
Here is what was reportedly canceled:
- Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake – Canceled after being first announced in 2020.
- Project Ether – In development since 2019, which was canceled, but has morphed, in a way, into a newer project. Believed to have been in development at Ubisoft Halifax.
- Project Pathfinder – Known previously as Project U
- Project Crest – A World War 2 extraction shooter
- Assassin’s Creed Rebellion – Stopping support
- Assassin’s Creed Singularity – A new mobile Assassin’s Creed Game that was also planned to launch on PC. It had been in development for a couple of years.
Although many of these projects were never officially revealed, their existence had surfaced through multiple leaks over time. What stands out is the high number of Assassin’s Creed projects that were reportedly in development, especially considering that several entries in the franchise are still active today.
For now, fans will have to wait and see whether Ubisoft confirms the return of Edward Kenway’s pirate adventure in April 2026.
