Assassin’s Creed Shadows Nintendo Switch 2 Version Announced, Launches December 2
Ubisoft has officially confirmed that the new chapter of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will arrive on the Japanese hybrid console on December 2.
This version of the game will include all the latest free updates and content, except for The Claws of Awaji expansion, which will be released later next year.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will also support cross-progression on Nintendo Switch 2 through Ubisoft Connect, allowing players to continue their adventure across different platforms without losing progress.
Additionally, the new Nintendo console will allow players to use touchscreen controls to navigate menus, view the world map, access the shop, and manage their hideout content.
Autumn Roadmap Updates
Along with the release date announcement for Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Nintendo Switch 2, Ubisoft also shared details about the autumn roadmap, which includes two major updates.
Title Update 10 will launch on October 28 and will further improve parkour mechanics based on player feedback. It will add a new feature called Advanced Parkour, which removes restrictions, allowing side ejects and back ejects from any height.
Vertical grip on ledges will work in more situations, even on unstable objects, and players will be able to perform a new manual jump between beams. The directional grip mechanic for ledges will also return.
On the same day, a new Animus-themed activity called Corrupted Castles will be introduced. Any castle completed before can become “corrupted” and filled with anomalies, offering players the chance to face tougher challenges and earn extra rewards.
Title Update 11
Title Update 11 will arrive on November 25 and introduce a new story mission titled A Puzzlement. This mission will have a lighter and more humorous tone, similar to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and will mark the return of certain enemies from Naoe’s past who are now seeking redemption.
Developers also mentioned a mysterious puzzle within this mission, along with additional narrative content, including a special crossover event coming on the same day, November 25.
