ASUS and Noctua teaming up is quite a force in the PC world. Now, with the announcement of the new ASUS GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua Edition, this is the fifth time the two companies have joined forces. Their new venture is an RTX 5080 graphics card designed for high-performance, but of course, also very low noise output. ASUS has taken a familiar approach to the Noctua Edition cards, blending their own expertise in GPU engineering with Noctua’s world-renowned quiet cooling solutions, with a custom heatsink, fans, and backplate design, it’s taking things to the next level.

The Noctua Edition Gets Three Fans
The new ASUS GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua Edition features a triple-fan layout, something we’ve not seen from previous Noctua colabs. These aren’t just any fans either, as they’re the new NF-A12x25 G2, which are Noctua’s latest and greatest 120mm flagship fans. This new cooling array works with a massively upgraded heatsink, which combines a large vapour chamber with a total of eleven heatpipes—seven 8mm and four 6mm—which is a significant improvement over previous Noctua Edition GPUs.
According to the CEO of Noctua, Roland Mossig, this new card represents the biggest generational leap yet for the series. He also stated that “It’s not only the first gaming GPU with three 120x25mm fans, but also the first to use our next-gen NF-A12x25 G2 fans. Combined with an upgraded heatsink design that integrates a large vapor chamber and eleven heatpipes, this makes the ASUS GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua Edition a stand-out choice for noise-conscious gamers and content creators.”
The fans are also set at different speeds to prevent any unwanted acoustic interaction, which can cause a periodic humming or vibrations.
