Over the past couple of generations, ASUS has dramatically increased the number of graphics card lineups they carry. One of the new ones launched last years is the new EXPEDITION series aimed at budget gamers who are focused on reliability. The latest addition is the new ASUS EXPEDITION GeForce GTX 1070.
Based off of the GP104 die, the Expedition GTX 1070 features 1920 CUDA cores, 120 TMUs and 64 ROPs. The card comes with factory overclocked speeds at 1607 MHz base and 1797 MHz boost in OC Mode. For cooling, we have a simple dual fan solution on top of a reference derivative PCB.
For the durability metric, ASUS has put each card through their iCafe Labs testing. This means 144 hours of testing in a diskless environment, a 2-hour reboot test and 15 hours of 3DMark testing. While no word has been given about pricing, I would expect it to come in the lower half of custom GTX 1070’s due to the budget orientation.
