ASUS Launches ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090; Limited to 1,000 Units at €4,099
ASUS introduced the card months ago, but it has only now gone on sale. The ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 is a high-end graphics card built with premium materials and released as a 30th-anniversary special edition.
In addition, ASUS will produce only 1,000 numbered units, each priced at €4,099. This makes the card not only very fast but also a collector’s piece aimed at hardware fans who see value in a rare, long-lasting product.
Performance, Cooling, and the 800-Watt Mode
Internally, the card keeps the same base specifications as the standard RTX 5090:
- 21,760 shaders
- 512-bit memory bus
- 32 GB of GDDR7 memory
The differences appear in its design and cooling. ASUS uses liquid metal, a thick copper PCB, and a quad-fan cooling system, all confirmed by ASUS’ official specs. This setup improves thermal performance and helps maintain higher clock speeds.
A major feature is the optional 800-watt mode, which increases the power limit by 225 watts over the RTX 5090 Founders Edition. To activate this mode, users need a high-power BTF motherboard slot along with the standard 12V-2×6 connector. When enabled, it allows higher boost speeds while keeping temperatures under control.
The ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 reaches 2,730 MHz in turbo mode out of the box, which is reported to be about 13.4% faster than the Founders Edition. With the 800-watt mode active, the turbo frequency becomes even higher.
