ASUS Officially Launches MINING-P106-6G Graphics Card

Photos of cryptocurrency dedicated mining cards from ASUS surfaced several weeks ago. Now it is finally official and is available to the public. The ASUS MINING-P106-6G graphics card is based on an NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPU without a display connector. This is not the first time ASUS released a cryptocurrency-specific mining card as they released the ASUS MINING-RX470-4G several months ago.

The MINING-P106-6G uses a PCIe 1.0 bus standard and as 6GB of GDDR5 memory running at 8008MHz. Its engine clock is running at a GPU Base of 1506MHz and has a GPU Boost Clock of 1708MHz.

In a mining environment operating for 24/7, keeping components cool is important. This is why the cooling system uses a pair of IP5X dust-free fans. The IP5X rating is not just a gimmick, but it ensures that the fans continues operating despite the dust build-up. It might get dust on it, but it will never get dust inside the working motor. The components used on the MINING-P106-6G are also of high quality since it will be operating constantly. Higher quality components cherry picked for ASUS’ Super Alloy Power II VRM means it is more reliable.

In terms of actual mining performance, the GTX 1060 seems to be an ideal choice for NVIDIA users. ASUS approximates a 36% hashrate advantage over non-mining cards specifically. The card is also compatible with their GPU tweak software so the performance can be further adjusted if need be.
