ASUS have just released their new 7 inch tablet. The ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 is a 7 inch tablet from ASUS coming in with a budget price point of $149. It features a 1280 by 800 IPS display, 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT8125 processor, and 1GB of RAM. The tablet has a 5 megapixel rear camera, 1.2MP front camera, Android 4.2, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, micro USB, a 10 hour battery life (size not disclosed) and weighs just 0.67 lbs/303 grams.
The ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 essentially rivals the first generation Nexus 7 on specifications and costs a similar amount making it a good value proposition. The new second generation Nexus 7 starts at $229. ASUS are making the MeMO Pad HD 7 available in blue, green, pink and white. ASUS are providing 16GB of internal storage as well as complimentary cloud storage (ASUS Webstorage). Audio is provided by ASUS Sonic Master sound technology through the dual stereo speakers.
In the USA the MeMO Pad HD is currently available at Newegg, Amazon and Tiger Direct for $149.99.
