With the Windows notebook market relatively stagnant in terms of bringing screen resolutions forward, ASUS are looking to buck the trend with their 2560 x 1440 WUXGA display on the 13.3 inch Zenbook UX301. Typically on notebooks we will see a 1366 x 768 display if relatively affordable, 1920 x1080 when more premium and occasionally 1600 x 900 if looking for a compromise in between the two. Rarely do we ever see a display as high resolution as 2560 x 1440 and so ASUS are really catering to that demand.
The ASUS Zenbook UX301 features a 10 point touch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The notebook from ASUS uses a 2560 x 1440 resolution giving an approximate PPI of 220, something rarely seen on notebooks. The UX301 is just 15.5mm thick when closed and will boast a Haswell Core i7 processor as well as ASUS SonicMaster audio and 802.11ac WiFi. ASUS have made a little teaser video about this upcoming notebook which you can check below:
Pricing and availability is still TBA.
