ASUS Has today revealed their new TUF Gaming A620-PRO WiFi motherboard aimed at those looking for an entry-level option to the AM5 platform.
The A620 chipset is the entry-level option which aims to provide users with a cheaper way to access the AM5 platform, which is notoriously expensive with the additional requirement of DDR5 while Intel continued to offer the option of DDR4 with their new chips. This is the first ATX A620 board from ASUS and whilst it is an entry-level chipset it is still packed with features and the design doesn’t scream entry-level either, with a large VRM heatsink to cool the 13-phase VRM and a tidy I/O cover.
The board contains all the features you come to expect from a modern motherboard with four DDR5 DIMM slots beside the AM5 socket as well as two M.2 NVMe slots both with PCIe Gen 4 support. For expansion, there is a PCI-E 4.0 X16 slot as well as a Gen 3 16x slot and 2 Gen 3 1x slots. All of this is plenty for the average user and even rivals the specs of my B450M TUF board.
When it comes to I/O the board makes room for a DisplayPort and HDMI, as well as two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, One USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type C and three USB 2.0 one of which is also compatible with BIOS Flashback with an included button. Being a WiFi-enabled board means there is also an included WiFi antenna which supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 as well as a 2.5GbE RJ45 port. The board also features 5 audio jacks powered by the Realtek 7.1-ch Audio CODEC.
ASUS Has not revealed pricing for this board however if you are interested in learning more you can view the product page at ASUS.com.
