A Closer Look

The Chakram Core is a fairly stealthy looking mouse, with a matte black finish and stunning lines and curves. It looks like some black cloth draped over a batmobile, I love it.

Down the left side, you’ll find the analogue thumbstick, which can also be put in a 4-way d-pad mode. There’s are two side switches too, each fitted with a lightly clicking mechanical switch.

Further back you can see the mouse has a nice wing shape on the left, giving you a comfortable thumb-rest, as well as some texture to help you really get a firm grip on it.

Towards the back, it looks quite bland. However, as you’ll see later, there’s a lot more going on here that you might think.

Down the right side, there’s a small ROG logo, as well as a little more of that built-in grip texture.

Both of the mouse buttons are quite long, giving you a lot of control surface. They’re also quite heavily scooped out, ensuring your finger rests in an optimal position. Furthermore, they’re both separately mounted on their own spring-loaded pivots too!

On this mouse, you get a hidden DPI level adjustment. I like this way, as I rarely make changes and don’t want to hit the button by accident. Tap it and you can cycle through 4 DPI levels.

Hold it down and turn the scroll wheel and you can adjust throughout the whole range of 100 DPI up to 16,000 DPI, all without the need for software, which is awesome! You can swap profiles with those side buttons too.
