ASUS ROG Spatha Wireless/Wired Gaming Mouse Review

Introduction

The is no shortage of high-end gaming mice on the market today, but one thing we do know is that each brand has to really pull something unique out of the bag to stand out from the crowd. Asus knows this and has created the ASUS ROG Spatha, their latest flagship gaming mouse that has more features than virtually anything else on the market, combined with a design that is unlike anything else out there today.

“ROG Spatha is an epic gaming mouse with a bold new design incorporating the Mayan-attended grip, ergonomic design for right-handed gamers, and superior precision using an 8200 dpi laser sensor.” – ASUS

Equipped with 12 fully programmable buttons, six of which are on the thumb grip for those eager to take command of their work and gaming, a pair of swappable Omron switches for the LMB and RMB, and an alternative set even comes included in the box! Customisable RGB LED  lighting, feature packed software, large palm rest ergonomic for long-term comfort while also offering optimal grip points for claw-grip gamers, a magnesium alloy chassis and so much more, the Spatha is virtually drowning in features, so we’re expecting great things from it today.

The packaging is very nicely designed, with images of the mouse on each side, giving you a good look at the overall design.

Around the back, a quick rundown of some of the features, but we’ll take a closer look at those in a moment.

The first things you’ll find in the box are the instruction book, as well as a nice welcome card.

There’s a durable clamshell case with all the components inside, as well as the mouse, which already looks pretty epic.

The case opens up to reveal all the tools you’ll need to get the mouse set up, charged and configured.

There are two gold-plated USB cables in the box, a longer braided one and a lightweight rubber coated one, two extra switches, a screwdriver, two parts that form the charging hub and some funky stickers.

The Spatha comes with a pair of Omron D2FC-F-7N switches pre-installed, each rated for 20M clicks and have an operation force of 60gf. However, you also get a set of these rather lovely D2F-01F switches included, which have an operation force of 75gf and are rated for 1M clicks.

The charging base comes with a very heavy cast metal stand, as well as the cradle its self which features magnetic contacts for easy charging.
