As this is a gaming laptop, it wouldn’t be much of a test if we didn’t try running some games on it. In this regard, overall we found that the GM501GS gave some excellent results. It is a mildly surprising reversal of the current trend we have seen in these tests, the GM501GS seems to be the better performer, in terms of games, than it’s very similar GL703G counterpart. In nearly every test, the GM501GS gave slightly better results and as such, in terms of gaming, you will not be disappointed here.
With an 8th Generation Intel i7-8750H and Nvidia 1070 graphics cards (with 8GB of VRAM), the processor and GPU perfectly compliment each other to give some very impressive results.
As you can see, this is also the 2nd instance in which we have utilised FFXV in our testing. As you would expect, the results are generally consistent with the GL703G, but again the GM501GS manages just an ever so slightly higher score.
