ASUS RTX 5090 ROG Matrix Returns to Stores, ASUS Clarifies There Were Only Delays in Availability
A few days ago, we reported that the impressive ASUS RTX 5090 ROG Matrix, a special edition graphics card, had stopped sales and shipments due to a reported quality issue. The cause of this supposed issue was never clearly identified — and now, it seems that it might not have existed at all.
ASUS has confirmed that there are no further delays for this model, and that the returned units originally sent for “replacement” have no defects and are being shipped back to retailers.
ASUS Clarifies: No Quality Issues, Only Shipping Delays
According to ASUS, the delay was simply caused by shipping issues as the company aimed to implement minor improvements to enhance customer experience.
Some stores had informed customers of potential problems, but ASUS’ latest statements contradict those reports, which had also appeared in discussions on the ASUS ROG forums.
ASUS Germany has informed its distributors and partner stores that new stock should arrive within the next few days. Retailers such as Proshop have already resumed sales of the card.
While ASUS has not detailed exactly what led to this short delay, the company mentioned that the pause was part of an adjusted production schedule to allow for unspecified improvements. The delay, it turns out, was not as significant as initially feared.
ASUS also reassured customers who already received the RTX 5090 ROG Matrix that their cards are functioning perfectly. There will be no need for replacements or repairs. Users can continue to enjoy their premium GPUs without concern.
This issue appears to have been a temporary logistics delay, now fully resolved — even for units already delivered.
