ASUS TUF Gaming B760-Plus WiFi D4 Motherboard Review

A Closer Look

I love the designs of the TUF Gaming product range, from their graphics cards to their motherboards, to the numbers of coolers, cases, peripherals, and even gaming chairs that other brands have released under the TUF Gaming Alliance licence, they all have this military robust look, with dark black, dark grey and just a touch of yellow, so they’ll all look great together.

The CPU comes surrounded by a surprisingly large VRM heatsink, at least relative to the size of the VRM configuration, so it should have no issues maintaining low temperatures and great performance.

There are four DIMM slots with support for DDR4 memory, not the newer DDR5, however, that does mean you’ll be able to use your older RAM and save a bit of money if you don’t feel the need to upgrade to DDR5 memory yet.

The CPU is fed by an 8-pin EPC connector, plus there’s an additional 4-pin to add more power and voltage stability for more high-end processors.

On the lower half, you’ll find a pair of large heatsinks, with the top one covering the primary M.2 slot, and then a full-width one near the bottom covering two more M.2 mounts.

There’s a reinforced PCIe 5.0 slot at the top too, which should be more than strong enough to deal with the heft of modern graphics cards.

With the heatsinks removed, you can see there’s a really good quality set of black capacitors on this motherboard, both surrounding the VRM and everywhere else on this board.

There are premium quality chokes, with both high-side and low-side MOSFETs in a 12+1 Power Stage configuration.

The board uses TUF-certified military-grade chokes and TUF 5K Black Metallic Capacitors, as well as a Digi+ VRM.
