How Much Does it Cost?

This is a high-end solution that’s sure to appeal more to professional streamers and content creators, rather than the hobbyist. The Live Gamer 4K is £249.90 right now, which isn’t cheap. However, with the build quality, features, included software and the fact it supports high frame rates and 4K HDR 60 FPS, it’s pretty much the best-equipped card on the market today. For those doing fun videos at 1080p, the more affordable GC570 HD 2 is just £129.90.

Overview

When it comes to gaming, I’m pretty happy to keep to myself in single player titles and rarely have much motivation to share my gaming content online. Perhaps I’ll post a few screenshots or a clip of something funny to friends, but that’s about it. Which is fine, I understand that the Live Gamer 4K just isn’t for me, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love the technology and how well it works.

If anything, I’ve never streamed a thing on Twitch, never used ODB, XSplit or anything. So with that in mind, I’m pretty happy that I was able to plug this thing in and have it running perfectly well with little to no experience. That’s promising news for those who are taking their first steps into gaming content creation.

Performance

The range of options on offer here is pretty fantastic, even if it is tipped towards the enthusiast PC gamer more than it is for a console. For one, it’s unlikely those using an Xbox One or PS4 will need the 4K model. However, those consoles do support HDR, and that’s a welcome feature on the 4K model. For Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, you’ll find all resolutions and framerates covered for your devices. Furthermore, PC gamers running a dual-PC recording setup will be pleased to see they can push extreme framerate videos and also 4K 60FPS HDR content. For premium YouTube and Twitch creators, this is a powerful tool indeed. It’s completely lag free, and there’s more than enough options to fine-tune your quality as required too.

Should I Buy One?

It’s certainly not for everyone, it’s a pretty expensive solution after all. However, it is the best of the best when it comes to capture cards. If you want no compromises to your gaming, no lag, and take your streaming seriously, you won’t find anything better. Highly recommended, despite the demanding price tag. You get what you pay for.
