Avowed Officially Coming to PlayStation 5, Release Date Confirmed
During the New Game+ Showcase 2026, Obsidian Entertainment announced that its action role-playing game Avowed will also arrive on PlayStation 5. Until now, the title has only been available on PC and Xbox Series X|S. The PlayStation version is scheduled for release on February 17, 2026, coinciding with the launch of the Anniversary Update, which will introduce a wealth of new content and improvements.
What’s New in the PS5 Version
The PlayStation 5 version will include all the updates and content previously announced by Obsidian. The studio had already outlined its roadmap for future updates in early December 2025, promising a variety of gameplay enhancements and technical refinements.
Among the most notable additions is the New Game+ mode, showcased during the event. This mode will allow players to replay the entire adventure at a higher difficulty level while keeping all previously earned progress and equipment.
Avowed is a first-person fantasy RPG set in the world of Eora, where your choices carve a path through war, intrigue, and ancient mysteries. Navigate a land in turmoil, forge powerful alliances or deadly rivalries, and wield magic and steel to shape the fate of the Living Lands—and your own destiny.
In other news, Obsidian Entertainment stated it makes no sense to use generative AI for tasks their talented teams already excel at, confirming they haven’t used it in recent games like The Outer Worlds 2, Avowed, or Grounded 2.
