Avowed Ranks Fourth on Xbox’s Most Played List in the US Last Week
The video game market analysis company Circana in the USA recently published its weekly ranking of the most-played games. Avowed made an impressive entry, securing fourth place on Xbox. This is a fantastic achievement, especially considering that it’s only behind the heavyweights like Call of Duty HQ (the main hub for the whole series), Fortnite, and Roblox—games that are tough to move off the top spots, particularly for a mid-level production like Obsidian Entertainment.
Live Service Games Continue to Dominate
As expected, live service games dominate. It’s no surprise that Avowed did not appear in the Steam ranking, as it likely saw the majority of its players on Game Pass. Early estimates suggest it has attracted over five million players, a number reportedly higher than Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle.
PC and PlayStation Rankings
On PC (Steam), the usual suspects remain on top, with Marvel Rivals taking the lead, followed by Counter-Strike 2 and Helldivers 2. The top spots are dominated by live service games, with Balatro in fourth and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 in fifth.
Not surprisingly, PlayStation’s leaderboard is also full of live service games, with Fortnite in first place, Call of Duty in second, and GTA 5 in third. In fact, Sony’s platform has the fewest traditional games in its ranking, though it’s clear that the live service model now rules across all platforms.
