Using the latest drivers available from both AMD and NVIDIA, those were the results. Nothing shocking and they all actually produced probably the best visual representation of how each card is currently rated in performance terms.
The good thing about this is that the 30FPS cap didn’t affect my testing at all. Come to think of it; I experienced little to no performance drops throughout my testing; this could be due to only using the benchmarking tool which may be free from issues. Now because this is an NVIDIA optimised game, NVIDIA has the upper hand when it comes to results. In our dedicated reviews, we saw the GTX 980 was slightly slower than the R9 390X; however, the R9 390X is just slightly slower in this game.
Due to the possible faults with the drivers or the game, we are currently only using this as a base for performance. Once again, we understand the current complications with the game. When the game is re-released with fresh drivers; we will carry out the same tests to ensure consistency.
