Battlefield 6 Estimated to Have Sold Over 20 Million Copies
According to estimates from Alinea Analytics, the latest chapter in Electronic Arts’ shooter series has sold over 20 million copies worldwide.
Launched last October, Battlefield 6 quickly became the highest-grossing game in the United States, even surpassing Call of Duty for a short time — a goal Electronic Arts had been chasing for years and one that many thought was out of reach.
“Battlefield 6 took the #1 [spot], marking a massive return to form for the franchise,” said analyst Rhys Elliott. “Our data shows Battlefield 6 has now amassed more than 26 million players (also including free-to-play REDSEC).”
“The base game alone has sold over 20 million copies,” Elliott added. “As we covered earlier this year, this resurgence was driven by listening to the community’s wishes and returning to the franchise’s roots.”
A Major Comeback for the Battlefield Series
These impressive numbers come at a crucial time for Electronic Arts. The strong performance of Battlefield 6 could influence how investors view the company’s long-term growth and the renewed interest in classic shooter experiences.
Analysts say that the success of Battlefield 6 might serve as a model for other franchises looking to reconnect with their core audience after years of experimentation and mixed results.
The remarkable sales estimates for Battlefield 6 come just before Electronic Arts’ $55 billion acquisition, which is expected to be voted on by shareholders this Monday. If approved, the company will become privately owned.
It’s important to note, however, that these are still estimates. The official Battlefield 6 sales figures remain at seven million copies sold at launch, and Electronic Arts has yet to update them. We’ll see if the company releases new numbers in the coming days.
