Battlefield 6 Faces Major Problems with EA App; Respawn Head Advises Players to Buy on Steam
Battlefield 6 is facing several issues due to the huge number of players trying to access the servers since launch. This has made the EA App almost unusable, leading Vince Zampella, the head of Respawn, to suggest buying the game on Steam instead.
It’s a rather unusual situation since Electronic Arts normally encourages players to purchase games through its own launcher rather than third-party stores like Steam. However, the problems have become so serious that even the franchise lead is recommending players look elsewhere.
Zampella has never been one to hold back his opinions, and once again, he shows his honesty—even if it means going against his own company’s policies.
Zampella’s Response to Player Complaints
Zampella joined the ongoing online discussion, responding to a series of player complaints. Many users have been unable to launch Battlefield 6 through the EA App, sometimes for several hours.
Beyond the issue of server overload, which causes long waiting times and queues, players have also reported bugs where the app fails to recognize the game installation, likely caused by excessive traffic.
The Respawn head replied to some of these complaints and said he was very upset with the EA App team, mentioning that even Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts, was angry about the situation.
Zampella pointed out that these issues do not appear to affect other platforms, such as Steam or the Xbox Store, effectively recommending that players buy Battlefield 6 from third-party stores like Steam to avoid problems.
In other news, Former Blizzard president Mike Ybarra claims Battlefield 6 will “boot stomp” Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, arguing the rivalry will push both franchises to deliver better FPS experiences and end CoD’s years of decline.
