Battlefield 6 Immediately Tops the UK Charts, EA Sports FC 26 Surpasses Ghost of Yotei
According to GfK’s weekly UK physical game sales chart, Battlefield 6 made its debut straight at number one, overtaking EA Sports FC 26, which itself moved ahead of Ghost of Yotei.
The data covers only physical sales in the United Kingdom, so it represents a smaller part of the overall market as digital sales continue to grow. Still, it gives a good picture of current trends. Here’s the top ten:
- Battlefield 6
- EA Sports FC 26
- Ghost of Yotei
- Mario Kart World
- Super Mario Galaxy 1 + Super Mario Galaxy 2
- Little Nightmares III
- Minecraft
- Donkey Kong Bananza
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Grand Theft Auto V
A Successful Launch
Battlefield 6 had a strong start overall, with an impressive launch on Steam, where it reached over 700,000 concurrent players—more than any Call of Duty game. This huge number of players also caused some technical issues during the early days.
The game’s success is reflected in its first-place debut in the UK charts, surpassing EA Sports FC 26, which held second place, pushing Ghost of Yotei to third after being number one last week.
Mario Kart World stayed steady in fourth place, while Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 dropped slightly as initial sales slowed down.
Another big debut this week was Little Nightmares III, entering at sixth place, just above Minecraft.
In other news, Former Blizzard president Mike Ybarra claims Battlefield 6 will “boot stomp” Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, arguing the rivalry will push both franchises to deliver better FPS experiences and end CoD’s years of decline.
