Battlefield 6 Season 2 Delayed, Extra Content Coming for Season 1
The Battlefield Studios have announced that Season 2 of Battlefield 6 has been delayed, while Season 1 will be extended with new content. The decision was made to give developers more time to apply updates, optimizations, and improvements based on community feedback. In the meantime, players will still have access to fresh activities and rewards.
Originally planned for January 20, Season 2 will now begin on February 17. To fill the gap, an update for Season 1 will be released featuring new weekly challenges, a bonus progression track, and additional battle pass rewards.
New Rewards and Bonus Track
Starting January 27, players can enjoy a new bonus progression track called “Frostfire.” By advancing through its levels, players will unlock extra rewards. This track works alongside the Season 1 battle pass and offers both free and premium items, including weapon bundles, character and vehicle skins, and XP bonuses.
The track can be completed simultaneously with other Season 1 progression paths, so players won’t have to choose where to spend their progress. Each level requires 10 bonus points, with a total of 110 points needed for completion. Unlike previous tracks, all points can be earned exclusively through weekly challenges — there are no separate missions this time.
After the update, the development team will launch a special Valentine’s Day event featuring daily login rewards and several double XP weekends to keep players active until Season 2’s debut. More details about the event and upcoming features will be revealed in the coming weeks.
In other news, Battlefield 6 has lost nearly 90% of its player base on Steam since its record-breaking launch in October 2025.
