Battlefield 6 Update Brings Core Improvements and REDSEC Fixes

Battlefield 6 Could Sell More Than 5 Million Copies in the First Week

DICE has rolled out Patch 1.1.1.5 for Battlefield 6, delivering a concise set of fixes aimed at enhancing the core gameplay experience and addressing key issues in the REDSEC Battle Royale mode. This update is focused on ironing out frustrating bugs across player mechanics, vehicles, and map interactions.

Core Gameplay Changes

Battlefield 6

One of the most important changes in this patch is the refinement of player movement and weapon handling. Players will find that their aim is now more reliable, particularly when moving. The developers have fixed an issue where bullet dispersion was higher than intended when quickly transitioning from a sprint to aiming down sights (ADS). Furthermore, weapon dispersion will no longer incorrectly assume a player is always moving at maximum speed, meaning slow movement will now be correctly factored into your accuracy.

In terms of visual stability, the landing animation has been tuned. This adjustment is designed to reduce excessive camera and weapon movement when aiming down sights, which should result in a smoother visual experience during and immediately after landing. This also resolves instances where your ADS aim could become displaced after sliding, which is a welcome fix for mobile players.

Vehicles, Gadgets, and Maps

The update also brings necessary corrections to vehicles and gadgets. Pilots will find that Lock-Guided Missiles now function as expected against enemy countermeasures such as flares, fixing a major frustration for air vehicle users.

The fun is over for players who enjoyed using the XFGM-6D Recon Drone to gain an unfair advantage. DICE has fixed an exploit that allowed players to ascend and access unintended areas of maps by standing on the drone and hitting it with the Sledgehammer.

General fixes have been applied to map rotations and modes. Vehicles should now spawn correctly in both Breakthrough and Conquest, and an issue where matches would sometimes start with all sectors and objectives active simultaneously has been resolved. Finally, destruction on the Siege of Cairo map in Strikepoint mode will now correctly reset at halftime.

REDSEC (Battle Royale) and Progression

The REDSEC Battle Royale (Quads) mode receives several important quality-of-life improvements. The patch ensures that matches now correctly end after the last team is eliminated. A critical fix addresses a bug where being killed immediately after a mobile respawn completed could result in the whole squad being prematurely eliminated instead of allowing remaining teammates to revive. Other fixes for REDSEC include preventing players from getting stuck in a top-down map view after redeploying and correctly removing the “Second Chance” after redeploying.

On the technical front, a few progression bugs have been squashed. The shotgun weapon challenge “Kill 5 Enemies With a Shotgun Without Reloading” should now complete properly, as will progress for the “Engineer Specialist 3” Assignment. Minor fixes for the UI, such as displaying unlock criteria for locked Anti-Air Vehicle presets, and audio, like the BF PRO Radio Channel playing sound, are also included.

What We Think

This patch, designated 1.1.1.5, focuses squarely on refinement and stability. The fixes for movement and dispersion are great changes that should directly impact the moment-to-moment combat experience, making the gunplay feel tighter and more reliable. Tackling the vehicle countermeasure issue is essential for balance, and closing the gadget-based exploit shows a commitment to fair play. While not a massive update, this update demonstrates DICE’s continued effort to polish the overall Battlefield 6 experience.
