be quiet! Announces Power Zone 2 and Pure Power 13M 1200W PSUs

be quiet! has expanded its high-wattage power supply lineup with the introduction of new 1200W models for both the Power Zone 2 and Pure Power 13 M series. Aimed at gamers building power-hungry rigs, these units bring ATX 3.1 compliance and high efficiency to the table.

Power Zone 2 1200W

The Power Zone 2 1200W is the high-performance choice for those who need top-tier efficiency. It boasts 80 Plus Platinum and Cybenetics Platinum certifications, hitting up to 94.3% efficiency. Cooling is handled by a Pure Wings 3 140mm fan, which features a semi-passive “zero-RPM” mode. This means the fan stays off during low loads and only kicks in when things get hot, even running for a few minutes after you finish gaming to cool down the internals properly.

Key Features:

  • Efficiency: 80 Plus Platinum (up to 94.3%).
  • Standards: Fully ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compliant.
  • Cooling: 140mm Pure Wings 3 fan with semi-passive operation.
  • Cables: Two 12V-2×6 cables with 90° connectors (600W each) and three PCIe 6+2-pin connectors.
  • Design: Single 100A 12V rail with modular, flat black cables.

Pure Power 13 M 1200W

For those looking for a more mainstream option without sacrificing reliability, the Pure Power 13 M 1200W offers 80 Plus Gold efficiency. It uses a temperature-controlled 120mm be quiet! a fan that remains virtually silent during day-to-day tasks. Like its bigger brother, it is fully ready for the latest hardware, featuring a 12V-2×6 connector capable of delivering 600W to modern GPUs.

Key Features:

  • Efficiency: 80 Plus Gold (up to 93.5%).
  • Standards: ATX 3.1 compliant and PCIe 5.1 ready.
  • Cooling: 120mm temperature-controlled silent fan.
  • Cables: One 12V-2×6 connector (600W) and four PCIe 6+2 connectors.
  • Design: Fully modular cable management for a cleaner build.

What We Think

It is great to see be quiet! refreshing these lineups to keep pace with the power demands of modern graphics cards. The move to ATX 3.1 across both the enthusiast and mainstream series shows they aren’t cutting corners on compatibility. For users planning a high-end build with an RTX card or the upcoming next-gen flagships, that 1200W overhead provides plenty of peace of mind.

“With these new 1200 W models, we’re delivering the power and reliability that enthusiasts demand for their most ambitious builds,” says Aaron Licht, CEO of be quiet! “Whether builders prioritise the Platinum efficiency and advanced cooling of Power Zone 2 or the Gold-rated mainstream value of Pure Power 13 M, both models represent our commitment to exceptional quality and whisper-quiet operation.”

Tell Me More

Both units utilise a single 12V rail delivering 100A, ensuring stable power delivery even during massive spikes. The inclusion of the 12V-2×6 standard is a welcome safety and compatibility upgrade over the older 12VHPWR connectors. The Power Zone 2 stands out slightly with its 90-degree angled cables, which make cable management in tighter cases much easier.

Where to Buy

The Power Zone 2 1200W is set to hit shelves on January 27 with a recommended retail price of $269.90 / €229.90. The Pure Power 13 M 1200W will follow shortly after on February 10, priced at $229.90 / €199.90.
