be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 Chassis Review

Introduction

be quiet! may still be a relatively new player in the chassis market, but if you’ve checked our reviews, you’ll know they got off to an incredible start with the Silent Base 600, then onto their bigger and better Silent Base 800, then the 800 Window, and now we’ve got what may be their ultimate creation, the Dark Base 900. There are two models of the 900 hitting the market, the standard one, and the Pro model which comes with a few extra features such as wireless device charging and tempered glass, but the core range of features and component capabilities remain the same.

  • Built for high-end enthusiasts and individualists
  • Fully versatile, thanks to modular construction
  • Three pre-installed SilentWings® 3 140mm PWM fans
  • Ready for water cooling radiators of up to 420mm
  • Full circuit airflow system with noise-dampened vents
  • Side window made of tinted and tempered glass (Dark Base Pro 900)
  • Wide range of features and high-quality materials

Unrivaled flexibility

“be quiet! Dark Base 900 is designed with modularity options that leave nothing to be desired. HDD slots are repositionable and the motherboard tray can be completely relocated to suit space requirements. Support for even E-ATX and XL-ATX allows installation of practically any motherboard. Customizable cable management and numerous features for special configurations.” – be quiet!

Impeccable cooling and silence

“Three pre-installed virtually inaudible SilentWings® 3 PWM fans. Perfect air circulation with up to nine (Dark Base 900) or seven (Dark Base Pro 900) additional fans. Four areas for water cooling radiators up to 420mm on top, front, back and base. Intelligent full circuit airflow with noise-dampened vents. Completely sound insulated case with decoupled motherboard, power supply and drives.” – be quiet!

Engineering masterpiece

“Premium materials and great design make this case the best of the be quiet! range. Aluminum surfaces and steel for highest stability and extreme elegance. Perfect for high-end workstations as well as overclocked and silent water-cooled systems. An engineering work of art.” – be quiet!

With extensive air and water cooling support, the Dark Base Pro 900 is definitely tailored to the high-end market, supporting multiple large radiators throughout the spacious interior.

Packaging and Accessories

In the box, you’ll find quite a few extra components, such as velcro ties, an extra rubber grommet, adaptor brackets for extended radiator support, all the usual screws, a comprehensive user manual, and two LED lighting strips.
